The boat was called the Uncle Sam. Their names were Annie and Louis Goldsmith. Early in the trip they "shipwrecked" on the island of Miquelon where they were overwhelmed by the kindness of the locals. In fact, my great grand-mother became pregnant with my grandmother while they were on the island, and my grandmother's middle name was Miquelon. Does anyone know anything about this?
