A brief history of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon
For centuries, the history of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon and New France were closely linked, but by the second half of the 18th century, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon had become the lone French territory in North America. Its destiny, initially tied to the volatile relations between Britain and France, ultimately became a close reflection of France’s own struggles with absolutism, revolution, colonialism and war.

Bonjour,
On July 15 we met with M. Rodrique ?, director of genealogy of the L’Arche Museum. He shared information from a text by a Mr. Smith, professor at Moncton University, about a Thomas Lefebvre, an Acadian, and one other Lefebvre. In our travels, we lost the handwritten note. Can we obtain the reference to these 2 early residents of St. Pierre?
We then toured your wonderful museum. Thank you for your help and for your incentive to preserve your your history in L’Arche.
